Energy and Indoor Environmental Systems Program
Financial assistance
Graduate Teaching and/or Research Fellowships
An essential element of a quality academic program is the presence of advanced degree candidates. Graduate students can serve as research assistants or teaching assistants in relevant courses, mentors to undergraduates, and role models for achieving success. Graduate fellows in energy systems engineering will be appointed each year to provide this presence and further strengthen the Energy and Indoor Environmental Systems Program.
New York State has a number of strong two-year technical schools that provide a fertile ground for recruiting undergraduate transfer students. Half-tuition scholarships are available for promising graduates of these schools to continue their technical education at Syracuse, including the completion of the Energy Systems certificate.
Undergraduate Research Fellowships
The College of Engineering and Computer Science has a long history of involving undergraduate students in funded research projects, both of a fundamental and applied nature. An integral element of the Energy Systems program is paid undergraduate fellowships focused on applied research relevant to energy systems firms. These fellowships will be offered to the top students in the junior and senior classes in an effort to get them involved in the energy systems program. The fellows will be awarded a stipend (and a travel allowance for presentation of a paper at a student conference) for efforts during the summer or academic year. Upon successful completion of their undergraduate study, fellows are encouraged to continue their study in a graduate degree program to further develop their knowledge and ability for independent research.
